Oh that's detonation....Just playing! That's the fuel enrichment relay. Bring it back and have them fix it. Its not harmful, u just got a noisy one that's all. I have the same problem, but I brought it back and then fixed it.

Tom, MDA has a turbo not an SC like us. Therefore, he has no fuel enrichment relay like us.
MDA- Do you get this noise when the car is cold, warm or at all times? I get a tapping noise when the engine's [overnight] cold if I touch the gas pedal above 3k rpm's. I couldn't tell you what the noise is but I'm guessing that it has something to do with the lifters and the oil being cold. Is it serious? Doubtful. Alot of cars do this when cold. If your car is doing it all the time perhaps your valve lash needs adjusting.

I'm guessing either valves need adjustment or rod knock.

Well at first i thought it only did it after the engine was warm... but now i've noticed it does it all the time...
I hope it's only valve adjustment... cuz i havnt done one in a while.... but think i've done any damage?

I would say, pop the valve cover off and check your valve clearances. Bring them back to spec if they're not what they should be. If they're still within specs, try some tighter settings to quiet them down. When your clearances get looser your valves will make more noise. If you do alot of high rpm driving you should check your valve clearances often. I know some engines make a ticking noise when you get excessive carbon buildup on the valves and stuff. Sometimes there's so much carbon that you have to run a small, controlled amount of water through the engine to "steam clean" the engine. Some people even use a brake fluid/water mixture to loosen up the carbon. On my old Talon I had ALOT of carbon buildup. I ran about a cup of water through the engine and it worked beautifully.

OK guys... need some ideas here...
I've been running my B18B turbo'd at 10psi for serveral months now... Actually quite enjoying the extra power now that's it's super cold here in Toronto....
However, just 2 days ago... i notice a new ticking noise... You know the typical noise the engine makes as it turns... but this is a new... much louder noise... that ticks... it can only be heard from about 3700 - 5000 rpm... if you're cruising at say 4000 rpm... and just tap the gas back and forth you can hear it ....
Any ideas ?
Someone thought it could be a connecting rod cap... the connecting rod bearings shot...
any other ideas ?

Try "Regane" ("Regain"? sp?) by Gumout. It's supposed to clean injectors and reduce carbon buildup in the ports and cylinders.
I ran two bottles in back to back tanks and surprisingly, it made enough of a difference that I saw richer readings on the A/F gauge.

I would do what Holden recommended first and then try the water if the regane doesn't work. When you run the water through the engine you have to do it VERY SLOWLY. Here's a link at www.dsm.org on how to do it on a talon. http://www.dsm.org/archives/1996/04/...04.txt/18.html The procedure should be the same on a honda. The nipple that the cruise control vacuum hose connects to would work well for sucking the water in.
